The beautiful stone structure that houses Christ Church was constructed in 1893 from locally mined stone. It incorporates design elements of Gothic, Norman, and Romanesque architecture. The layout is a traditional cruciform (cross-shaped) plan with a large Norman tower at the crossing.
The freestanding High Altar is carved stone, as is the baptismal font. A brass rood screen sets off the chancel from the nve. The lectern is also brass. The pulpit and communion rail are constructed of carved oak. Numerous carvings and exquisite stained glass windows adorn the sanctuary. The carved oak pews seat about 600.
St. Mary's Chapel, on the right side as you proceed toward the altar, is a work of art in miniature. The altar and screen are made of elaborately carved and painted wood. The windows in the chapel are an outstanding feature of Christ Church: Designed by Tiffany Studios in 1900-1915, they highlight the unique combination of design and color for which Tiffany is famous. St. Mary's Chapel also boasts the work of another genius: The blue and white relief of the Madonna is an original della Robbia bisque.
The 38-rank Moeller pipe organ was installed in 1951, with T. Tertius Noble playing at its dedication recital. As a result of a capital campaign, the organ was renovated in time for Christmas 1990.
